Beverly's Slingerland named lacrosse All-America

Eric Slingerland of Beverly has been chosen as a high school All-America selection for boys lacrosse.

Slingerland, a standout at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H., is one of 88 elite high school seniors (boys and girls) who have been picked as All-Americans.

As a result, Slingerland will play for the Boys North Team at the fifth annual Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic July 3 at Towson University's Johnny Unitas Stadium in Towson, Md.

A four-year standout at Exeter who excels at his midfield position, Slingerland will be playing lacrosse next season at Havard University. He is also a highly acclaimed soccer player.
