Tuesday's area roundup: Masco dominates Triton with defense


Campbell Wood took second for Beverly (0-1) in 15:20 and freshman Brian McPherson was third in 15:34. Michael Scott added a seventh place finish while Anthony Morrissey was eighth.

Danvers 15, Salem 41: James Bailey (18:17) took the top spot in the Falcons’ season opener. Kevin Hebert (18:59), Ryan Heber (19:19), Zach Powers (19:57) and Jay Calcagno (20:40) took the next four spots for Danvers.


Endicott 1, Lasell 0: Paige Marinelli’s unassisted goal in the eighth minute stood up and Endicott (1-3-1) earned their first win of the season. Katie Donnelly stopped all three shots she saw to close out the clean sheet.

Gordon 2, Colby-Sawyer 1 (2OT): Jamie Breton scored in the second overtime to lift Gordon (4-1) to a last second win. Taylor McSherry also scored for the Fighting Scots and McKenzie Dion stopped all 11 shots she saw while Kari Chsitensen made five saves.


Rhode Island College 1, Endicott 0: The Gulls (2-3) fell in overtime as RIC’s Tyler Pacheco scored the game’s only goal in the extra session. Austin Peluso stopped seven shot in the Endicott cage and the Gulls managed five shots on goal.

Gordon 2, UMass Boston 0: Kellen Kasiguran had a goal and an assist and Tim Hardy’s five saves were enough for the shutout as Gordon stayed unbeaten on the season at 4-0. Evan Crocker had the other goal for Gordon, netting his third of the season in the 75th minute for the winner.


MIT 5, Gordon 2: The Fighting Scots (3-1) suffered their first loss of the season on the road.
