Jean DePlacido column: Peabody's Mahoney expects to contribute at St. Anselm

With only one starter back, the Eagles’ defense is both very young and very inexperienced. But they shut out BR in the second half, and will have another tough challenge on their hands this week. Sophomore defensive end Jack Lambert had a big second half tackle for a nine yard loss on the Trojans’ leading running back Brandon Gallagher, who gained over 100 yards. That’s the kind of play that fires a defense up, and the Eagles are going to need more of them.

Most preseason polls had SJP ranked No. 1, but after the loss Everett took over the top spot. In two weeks the Crimson Tide will come to Cronin Stadium for another big game.
