FUNDRAISING
The Beverly High PTSO is holding its annual fundraiser at Beverly Golf & Tennis on October 3. The event includes an 18 hole scramble golf with registration at noon and shotgun start at 1 p.m.; tennis with registration at 2:30 and start time of 3 p.m. and a dinner/auction beginning at 6 p.m. For more information contact Kathy Carnevale at 978-922-1793.

The Peabody Basketball Association travel program will be holding tryouts for boys and girls from Sept. 27-Oct. 7 at Higgins Middle School. Girls in 6th grade go from 5-7 p.m. on Sept 27 and OCt 4; girls in 7th grade go from 7-9 p.m. on Sept. 27 and Oct. 4; girls in 8th grade go from 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 30 and Oct. 7; boys in 6th grade go from 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 29 and oct. 6; boys in 7th grade go from 7-9 p.m. on Sept. 29 and Oct. 6 and boys in 8th grade go from 7-9 p.m. on Sept. 30 and Oct. 7. Salem Youth Basketball will be holding registration Thursday Sept. 22 from 5-8pm at the Senior Center on 5 Broad Street in Salem, though registration will remain open at the senior center until the end of october. The league will run from November until late March for boys and girls ages 9-15. The registration fee is $40. If you have any further questions call SYB director Cowan White at 978-828-5450.
ROAD RACES
The 10th annual Salem YMCA Witch City 5K road race will be held Sunday, Oct. 23. The race starts and ends at Salem Willows with registration beginning at 7:45 a.m. Forms are available at area YMCAs and online at http://www.northshoreymca.org.
