Area roundup: Prep volleyball wins seventh straight

VOLLEYBALL

St. John’s Prep 3, Xaverian 0: The Eagles won in three games (25-16, 25-21, 25-23) to improve to 7-0. Senior outside hitter Brian Keogh had 14 kills while senior setter Sean Brennan had 35 assists.

BOYS TENNIS

Swampscott 5, Danvers 0: The Big Blue (3-0) scored a big win thanks to a singles sweep by first singles Matt Jacobs (6-0, 6-2), second singles Val Temin (6-4, 6-2) and third singles Mike Pindrus (6-1, 6-1). Ian Crimmins/Sam Crimmins (6-4, 6-4) and Sam Carmasino/Moevan Dennis (6-2, 6-4) won at first and second doubles respectively.

GIRLS LACROSSE

North Shore Tech/Essex Aggie 8, Cambridge 7: The Bulldogs improve to 2-2 on the season behind strong performances from Megan Doherty (four goals) and Courtney Panaro (three goals).

BOYS LACROSSE

Mystic Valley 5, North Shore Tech/Essex 2: Cameron Smallidge and Dan McCormick had the goals for the Bulldogs (1-3) in yesterday’s loss. Garrett Oman played well in goal with 17 saves.

WOMEN’S COLLEGE LACROSSE

Endicott 21, Roger Williams 2: Siri Mason (five goals), Callie Murphy (three goals, four assists), Holly Davis (three goals, three assist) and Kelly Tierney (four goals, two assists) helped Endicott (8-5) remain perfect in Commonwealth Coast Conference play at 5-0.

MEN’S COLLEGE LACROSSE

Keene State 16, SSU 13: Dylan Svenson made 18 saves in net for SSU (7-4) but it wasn’t enough. Kyle Dolan scored a hat trick for the Vikings.
