“I didn’t start competing until I got to high school,” said Phillips. “I’ve been swimming and diving all four years, and I’ll continue to swim recreationally. That will be good cross training for me.
“I had two big decisions to make. I knew what I wanted to major in so I wanted a strong academic program. In the end I decided I would have more fun playing lacrosse the next four years. I’m happy with my decision, and I want to finish my high school career with a good season,” said Phillips, who has helped Marblehead (6-1) win its last six games in a row.
“We have a very strong team this year. It will be an adjustment going from three different sports to just one, but at the college level I’ll have fall ball as well as our spring season.”
