Danvers/Beverly softball game proceeds to benefit Boston Marathon bombing victims

The Salem News

---- — Whenever the Danvers and Beverly High softball teams get together for their annual Northeastern Conference duel, it’s always for a good cause.

In the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing, both teams have decided to donate the proceeds of today’s game to the One Fund Boston, which helps the people most affected by the tragic events.

The game starts at 4 p.m. this afternoon and will be held at Great Oak Fields in Danvers. Both teams will be selling T-shirts for a donation of $15 or more. There will also be a bake sale and 50/50 raffle.

In conjunction with proceeds from today’s game, Orange Leaf in Danvers is also going to donate 10 percent of all sales tomorrow. The Beverly and Danvers softball teams ask that you visit the store to help with the total contribution.
