Friday's area roundup: Masco girls clinch title

North Shore Tech 12, Revere 7: Grace McNally led the way for the Bulldogs (4-10) with five goals, while Lydia LeDonne, Courtney Panaro and Jennifer Lutes added two goals each. Kiley Morgan got the win in goal with 12 saves.

Masconomet 14, Newburyport 8: Sophomore attack Cam Jung had a huge game, scoring six times as the Chieftains wrapped up their third straight Cape Ann League Division 1 title. Masco (11-5, 9-0) also got three goals and one assist from Trevor Surette and two goals and one assist from Harry Cwik. Henry Behrens, Sam Antzcak and Max Craig also scored for Masco.

Tighe Van Lenten made 13 saves in goal and Aiden Sears, Corey Tines, Mike Veno and Mike Jesi played well defensively. Dylan Mann also won 18 of 22 faceoffs to help the Chieftains.

Georgetown 7, Salem 6 (double OT): Matt Jalbert netted the tying goal for Salem (10-5) with three minutes left, but Georgetown scored the winner on a broken play in the second overtime. Chad Coelho scored two goals, Peter Slattery and Matt Willson each had one goal and one assist, and Mat Muse chipped in with three assists. Billy Muse also scored for the Witches.

Kevin Nguyen made 13 saves in net before getting knocked out of the game with an injury. Junior Will Meadowcroft made three saves in relief and stood out in overtime.

North Shore Tech/Essex Aggie 7, Whittier 6: The Bulldogs trailed 6-3 after three quarters, but came storming back for the win. Logan Gilliland scored the winner with five minutes to play. He finished with one goal and three assists. Anthony Huntley, Ian Lefavour, and Dan McCormack each had two goals and Max Sciola had a pair of assists for North Shore (5-8).

Pingree 8, Cushing 6: Maxx Trotsky (three goals), Carter Rossano (two goals), Arjen Steegstra (one goal one assist) and Sam Ober (two goals) led the offensive charge for the Highlanders. Tyler Rostad, Jackson Partican and Alex Salalayko had strong games on defense, while Chris Usseglio had 11 saves in goal.
