Friday's area roundup: Masco girls clinch title

Peabody 3, Revere 2: The Tanners (3-6) swept in doubles action as Alex McDonough/Mike Nicoli (6-1, 6-1) and Ben Small/Shahou Melkonian (6-1, 6-1) each had wins and Mike Warren (6-0, 6-3) picked up the victory at first singles.

Salem 3, Lynn English 2: Tahmid Raji (6-1, 6-3), Aidan Scrimegour (6-2, 7-5) and Guthrie Scrimegour (6-0, 6-1) swept a first, second and third singles respectively for the Witches (4-7).

Ipswich 3, Lynnfield 2: Michael Prine-Robie was victorious at second doubles (6-4, 7-5) for the Tigers (4-7). Murali Prasad/Forest Finn (6-2, 6-3) and Sam Benford/Rich Morris (6-2, 6-3) added points in doubles play.

Cambridge 5, Danvers 0: The Falcons (6-6) found themselves shorthanded yesterday, but saw strong play from Brian Daly who moved up from first doubles to second singles.

Salem 4, Lynn English 1: Ari Gaffney (6-1, 6-0) and Catherine Majeski (6-3, 6-1) got points at second and third singles, while Marlena Udden/Madison Ballou (6-4, 3-6, 6-3) and Kayti LeFrancois/Jodi Dimayuga (6-2, 7-5) were victorious in doubles action.

Bishop Fenwick 5, St. Mary’s 0: The Crusaders cruised for their 10th of the season behind wins from Meredith Maguire (6-1, 6-0), Demi Velonis (6-0, 6-1) and Amanda Ness (7-5, 6-3) in singles play. Jeena DeFrancisco/Alyssa Padilla (6-3, 2-6, 6-6, 10-8) and Cara LaCrosse/Olivia Comeau (6-0, 6-0) swept in doubles action.

Peabody 5, Revere 0: Rachel Gillis (2-6, 6-2, 6-0) Winger Ma (6-2, 6-2) and Dany Chhan (6-0, 6-2) earns points for the Tanners (9-2) in singles action, while Anna Grimalyak/Kayla Hodas (6-2, 6-1) and Beverly Ejiofor/Ashley Eddy (6-2, 6-3) won at doubles.

Endicott 5, Bridgewater State 0: The Gulls swept the doubles and rolled to victory in the first round of the NCAA Division 3 Tournament. Natalie Egbert/Chrissy Martel (8-1), Brittany Potter/Amy Heacox (8-1) and Emilie Cloutier/Gina Pinciaro (8-3) took the doubles victories, while Heacox (6-0, 6-0 at No. 3) and Pinciaro (6-1, 6-0 at No. 5) closed out the scoring for Endicott (19-3).
