GIRLS BASKETBALL

Shawsheen 70, North Shore Tech/Essex Aggie 29: Senior captain Julie DeGenova scored eight points in a losing effort for the Bulldogs (0-8).

GIRLS TRACK

Beverly 69, Revere 12: Double-winner Kristen O’Connor took the high jump (5-feet) and the hurdles (7.6) helped the Panthers improve to 4-0 on the season. Other event winners were Nicole Kirsch (shot, 30-8), Caitlin Harty (300, 45.7), Madison Shropshire (600, 1:45), Allison Collins (1000, 3:25), Nicole Demars (mile, 5:27) and Maeve Monahan (2-mile, 12:42).

Masconomet 44, North Reading 42: Mila Zernich, Cat Hosman, Lauren Dhrosky and Paige Pratt won the 4x400 realy to get the final five points of the meet and lift the Chieftains (2-1) to victory. Taylor Teed led a sweep of the dash along with Maddie Doyle and Lucy Farnham and freshman Elizabeth Dew picked up a crucial second in the shot put.

Ipswich sweeps: The Tigers defeated both Pentucket (64-22) and Newburyport (56.5-29.5) to move to 4-0. Katie Monahan (hurdles), Tina Keiran (2-mile), Sarah Keiran (1000), Devon Smith (high jump), and Courtney Long (shot put) had the individual wins for Ipswich, while Smith, Monahan, Jill Calvani, and Michaela Hedderman combined to win the mile relay.

BOYS TRACK

Newburyport 44, Ipswich 42: Alex Jean-Charles won the dash, Ryan Bahar won the hurdles, Michael Riddle won the 2-mile and Robbie Fay won the 300 as the Tigers came close in a Cape Ann League match-up. Fay, J.P. Romano, Neil Coleman and Chris DiNocco teamed to win the 4x400 relay.

Revere 47, Beverly 34: Senior Kenny Pierce won the dash by a nose but the Panthers fell to 2-2 overall. Harry Brown took the shot put with a heave of 46-6, Campbell Wood won the 2-mile (10:57) and Alex Grecco won the mile (4:47) for Beverly.

Masconomet 49, North Reading 37: The Chieftains moved to 3-0 as Josh Griffith won the shot with a toss of 41-feet. Dan Raphael took the 600 (1:40.6), Jake Moorman was first in the 1000 (2:57) Marco Caserta won the 2-mile (10:26), Adam Murphy took the dash and Harry Kent won the mile (4:52).
