Endicott's Robbie DiTommaso put the finishing touch on a loose ball in the box early in the second half to help the Gulls split with visiting Salem State 1-1 in the season opener for both clubs.
The Vikings' Rafael Santos got SSU on the board in the first half when he deflected a ball that rolled by Endicott keeper Dan Higgins and into the net.
Locals Jared Rizzo (Peabody) and Kevin Ivester (a Masconomet product) played well for Endicott while Salem State's best chance to score came late when Jovan Sempa's bid was denied by Higgins (six saves). For SSU, keeper Luis Marques stopped nine shots.
