Monday's area roundup: Big Blue field hockey blanks Peabody

FIELD HOCKEY

Swampscott 2, Peabody 0: The Big Blue (3-2-1) got first half goals from Christina King and Danielle Mayblyum to earn the shutout win. Peabody goalie Ally Daly made a dozen saved and Angela Videtta collected one assist for Swampscott.

Andover 4, Bishop Fenwick 0: The Crusaders (5-2) fell to one of the better teams in Division 1. Goalie Bridget Townsend made 18 saves and defenders Maura Benson, Victoria Hernandez and Kathleen Moran had strong outings for Bishop Fenwick.

Danvers 7, Everett 2: Senior captain Katherine Leonard scored four times to lead the Falcons (4-2-1). Annie Tarricone scored her first varsity goal for Danvers while Raquel Leslie and Rachel Trocchi also scored and Catie Lamoly dished out three assists. Allison Wentworth had a strong game for Danvers and sophomore goalie Meghan Birmingham earned her first win.

Beverly 5, Marblehead 0: Junior Cassidy Alla stood on her head, stopping 41 shots for Marblehead, which dropped to 5-2. Casey Collins also played well defensively, breaking up 20 corners.

Manchester Essex 4, North Andover 1: Senior forward Brittany Smith scored three goals and classmate Anna Heffernan added one goal and one assist for the Hornets (5-0-1). Junior Meghan Conway had one assist and junior Libby Dulski played well.

Noble & Greenough 2, Pingree 0: The Highlanders (3-2) played very well as a team defensively and backliners Nicole Giannino and Christina Chalmers both had goal line saves.

Beverly 5, Marblehead 0: Kate Silvestri and Grace Otterbein each scored two goals as the Panthers (7-1) earned the shutout. MaryCate Flaherty also scored, while Hannah Silvestri and Nicole Wood both had solid games for Beverly.

GIRLS SOCCER

Masconomet 9, Saugus 1: Sammi Sheehan led a well balanced scoring attack with two goals and two assists as the Chieftains (3-0-2) rolled to an easy win. Courtney Bouchard and Taylor Teed each scored twice for Masconomet while Paige Pratt had a goal and three assists. Julia O’Reilly and Emma Hibbard also found the back of the net while Erika Gildea, Abba McKenelley, Kate Kitsakos and Maddie Gleason notched assists.
