Monday's area roundup: Big Blue field hockey blanks Peabody



Salem 3, Danvers 1: Senior Hannah Wilkins had six kills with one block and three aces to help the Witches even their record at 4-4 with a 25-14, 19-25, 25-18, 25-17 win. Kayti LeFrancois also played well for Salem with nine digs and 17 service points. Shannon Veilleux played well for Danvers with seven assists and three aces, Erin St. Pierre added four kills and three aces, and Meagan Llewellyn turned in strong defensive play for the Falcons (0-6).

Peabody 3, Beverly 0: Carolyn Scacchi’s 15 kills and 18 digs led the way for the unbeaten Tanners (6-0), who prevailed 25-18, 25-17, 25-18. Olivia Summitt (7 kills), Sara Hosman (12 service points, 3 aces, 8 assists) and Ali Gottsegan (13 assists) also played big roles in Peabody’s win.

Lynn English 3, SwampScott 0: The Big Blue fell at home 25-19, 25-19 and 25-20 as their overall record dipped to 2-4.

Lexington 3, North Shore Tech/Essex Aggie 0: The Bulldogs dropped to 3-5 with 25-10, 25-8, and 25-11 losses. Isabel Comacho and Jassiel Abreu played well in the middle. Senior Christa Leger also played well in her first game back from injury.

Marblehead 3, Winthrop 0: Isabel Marcey stood out with 15 assists as the Magicians won, 25-21, 25-21, 25-16. Emily Messinger added five kills for Marblehead (1-5) while Michaela LeBlanc produced 12 digs.


Springfield 1, Endicott 0: Gulls goalie Austin Peluso stopped nine of the 10 shots he saw but Endicott (4-5) couldn’t manufacture a goal against Springfield and came away with a one-goal loss. The Gulls generated seven shots on goal, with three of those from Connor Gibbs, and had five corners.
