---- — Beverly High stayed close to home in hiring their new boys indoor track coach, as boys cross country coach Sean Dunleavy was named to the post yesterday.
A 14-year veteran coaching girls spring track at Danvers as well, Dunleavy will be looking forward to expanding his horizons at Beverly beyond the fall distance realm.
“We are extremely excited to have coach Dunleavy take over our boys indoor program. Sean has an extensive background in athletics, particularly cross-country and track which includes high school and collegiate experience,” BHS athletic director James Coffey said. “Sean fits right in with our Beverly High School athletic philosophy. He is the right person to take this program forward.”
A four-year runner at the University of Maine, Dunleavy coached cross country at Endicott College for three years before moving to the high school ranks. He is a sixth grade teacher at Holten-Richmond Middle School and resides in Beverly.
