Tuesday's area roundup: North Shore Tech girls soccer qualifies for tourney

GIRLS SOCCER

NST/Essex Aggie 3, Greater Lawrence 1: Keely Gallagher, Sarah Powers and Hailey Paige scored the goals for the Hawks (7-2-4), who qualified for the tournament in the win. Ella Speff and Paige added assists, while Makayla Nordon had a strong game in the midfield.

Salem Academy 5, Academy of Pacific Rim 2: Channelle Camah had 2 goals and Laura Sawin added a goal and two assists to help Salem Academy improve to 5-3-2. Nyona Dukes scored her first goal of the year and Jessie Nguyen also had a goal.

Beverly 5, Lynn Classical 0: Senior Caitlin Harty had all five goals to put her season total over 30 and the Panthers avenged an early season tie to the Rams in a big way. Senior Casey Cook doled out three assists for Beverly (10-3-2) while Kristen O’Connor and Meghan Berking had one each and senior Diandra Crowley played well on defense.

Peabody 6, Revere 0: Erika Nelson’s hat trick helped the Tanners (9-1-2) extend their unbeaten streak to 11 games with yet another shutout from Caitlin Lodi. Caroline Colbert added a goal and two assists while Madison Doherty and Brianna Gaynor scored, and Sydney Cooke added one assist.

Salem 3, Lynn English 0: The Witches (8-5-1) earned their fourth straight shutout as Sydney Rocheville and Ari Gaffney split the shutout and captain Brenna Burke led a strong defensive effort. Deema Hijleh had a pair of goals, Alix Bryant had two assists and Nicole Sadoway also had a goal.

Marblehead 0, Swampscott 0: Keeper Lauren Unterborn made 15 saves to help Marblehead (8-3-2) earn a point and qualify for the state tournament for the second straight year. Sydney Cayen and Sarah Cullen both had outstanding games for the Magicians.

FIELD HOCKEY

Marblehead 3, Revere 1: Hannah Fobert had the hat trick to help the Magicians improve to 10-4-1. Assisting on Foberts’ goals were Eliza Fitzgerald (two helpers) and Abby Bostley, while Mileah Duntley and Eryn McCormack enjoyed strong all-around games.
