Pingree 26, Proctor 21: Johnnie Spears rushed for 128 yards on 12 carries and scored three rushing touchdowns and 30-yard TD catch for the Highlanders (5-1). His four touchdowns ties Pingree’s single season touchdown record (18), which he set last season. Quarterback Griffin Beal was 7-14 passing for 104 yards.
“It was an ugly win, but we made a tough go of it,” said Pingree head coach Chris Powers. “Even though we moved the ball well, it hard for us to find the end zone. We did have a real solid game from our defense and they bounced back in a big way after last week’s loss.”
Powers noted the strong play of defensive tackle Nino Leone and middle linebacker Kevin Moyette (13 tackles).
North Shore Tech 55, Mystic Valley 14: Ross Murphy ran for 210 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns to help North Shore Tech close its Commonwealth Conference schedule with a 4-0 record. The Bulldogs (5-2) will meet Cathedral on Saturday (time TBA) in a Division 6 North playoff matchup.
