Masconomet 8, Peabody 0: Kendra Dow recorded six points on three goals and three assists for the Lady Chieftains, who improve to 2-0 on the season after blanking Peabody on the road. The top line of Dow, Katie Terban and Kylie Currier combined for 14 points.
“It was a really good team performance,” said coach Nicole Twomey. “Believe it or not, Dowd, Terban and Currier weren’t particularly happy with their performances, but it’s tough to be critical when you factor into the scoring the way they did”
Senior Alex Jones made 15 saves for the shutout.
Marblehead 9, Everett 3: Junior captain Brittany Smith had a natural hat trick and finished with four goals and an assist, as the Lady Headers (2-1) rolled. Freshman Brittany Lydon had four assists, while Halle McKay and Emmarose Winder each had two goals. Sabrina Doughman made 22 saves in the win.
Danvers/H-W 45, Peabody 36: The Falcons move to 4-1 after Michael Ness (120 pounds), Kyle Warren (132), Jack Anderson (138), Chris Behen (145) and Sam Anderson all had wins by pin. Jack Leete (106) defeated his opponent 9-5, while Chris Davis (113) and Stan Papagelis won their matches forfeit.
On Saturday, Danvers/H-W took seventh place out of 15 teams at the Tyngsboro Big Red Tournament. Behen (138) pinned all his opponents before losing in the final while Davis (113) was 5-1 on the day for third place. Sam Anderson (152) and senior Bobby Ingersall (182) both made the consolation finals.
Beverly 43, Salem 18: The Panthers improve to 4-1 behind wins from Nick Parinos (132), Joe Kozlowski (138), Luke McDonald (160), Tom Wilbur (170), Brian Perry (220) and Pat Queiroz (heavyweight).
St. John’s Prep 56, Lowell 15: The host Eagles (8-1) dominated last night’s non-conference match. Hunter Costa (106), Joe Flynn (120), D.J. Lemieux (126), Fred Colberg (132), Jared Costa (138), Ben Kincaid (145), V.J. Mortillaro (152), Peter Locke (162), Jon Polansky (195) and Corey Jean-Jacques (285) all had wins for the Prep.
Pingree 79, Berwick 37: The Highlanders (3-1) used a full court press to grab 11 steals in he first three minutes while jumping out to a 23-2 lead. Johnny Spears had 10 points, 10 assists and nine steals in very limited minutes while junior Connor Reardon had 13 points and 10 boards.
Peabody 0, Winthrop 0: Senior Joe Powers made 25 saves and the Tanners (0-0-1) came away with a point at always tough Larsen Rink. Winthrop’s Ray Feeley made 27 saves in a goalies duel. Defensemen Chris Minter, Pat Ruotolo, Cam Smullen and Guiseppe Zaro played well.
Salem 2, Somerville 2: Sam Perti score the tying goal with 3:40 to go as the Witches improve to 1-1-1. Spencer Bergholtz had a goal and an assist, Danny Heck had two assists and Petri also assisted on the Bergholtz goal. Junior Brett Harring made 20 saves.
Masconomet 1, Newburyport 1: Brett Bergeron scored a second period, power play goal off a one-timer, as the Chieftains (0-2-1) got a point on the road. Tyler Costello and Alec DiGiorgio assisted on the play, while Matt Cardillo stopped 14 shots.
North Shore Tech/Essex Aggie 58.5, Lynn Tech 27.5: Eric Comeau had double wins in the shot and 600 for the Bulldogs (1-0). Phil Simonton (2 mile), Dan Crowley (mile) and Doug Wilson (hurdles) also had first place finishes.
North Shore Tech/Essex Aggie 79, Lynn Tech 5: Grace McNally doubled taking the high jump and the hurdles as the Bulldogs won their opener. Also winning were Hannah Marshall (dash), Autumn Rose Cataldo (300), Alexa Marquis (600), Kayla Silva (1000), Kelin Countier (2 mile) and Alison Coleman (shot).
