Last Year’s Record: 22-2 (Catholic Conference champs, fell in Division 1 North final)

Head coach: Dan Letarte (1st season)

Captains: Max Burt, Sr., SS; Evan Roberts, Sr., P.

Other key players: Keith Leavitt, Jr., OF; Mike Geaslen, Sr., C; Justin Snyder, Sr., P; Sawyer Billings, Sr., 1B; Nick Latham, Jr, OF; Rich Riley, Sr., P.

Strengths: Left-handed pitching. The Eagles may be one of the few teams in the state that has not one, but two southpaws at the top of the rotation. Justin Snyder burst onto the scene last year by going 5-0 with a minuscule 0.41 ERA and 40 Ks in 34 innings, and Evan Roberts is bound for Division 1 Davidson (N.C.) College as a left-handed hurler as well. That unique look will present problems for the Eagles’ opponents.

Concerns: Experience. The Prep lost basically seven full-time starters from last year’s 22-2 juggernaut. There’s plenty of talent, though and guys like Burt and Geaslen would’ve been multi-year starters at almost any other program in Eastern Mass. Latham and Leavitt’s power in the outfield should help stave off any experience-related growing pains in the lineup.

Coach’s Outlook: “We talk about league and state titles. Those are the only things they put up in the gym. Not the individual stuff, or the North or anything else. For us, the approach is to work every day and hope it takes care of itself. We’ll attack it that way every day.”

Last year’s record: 13-7 (lost to B.C. High, 8-6, in the East Division 1 quarterfinals)

Head coach: John Roy (20th season)

Captains: Andrew Gallahue, Sr. A; Drew O’Connell, Sr. M; Eamon O’Leary, Sr. D; Chris Casey, Sr. LSM

Key Returnees: Shawn Waldron, Sr. A; Joey Cavallaro, Sr. A; Sam Frick, Sr. M; Jack Curley, Sr. M; Conor Regan, Sr. M; Owen Rockett, Jr. M; Colin Fahey, Sr. D; Chris Titone, Jr. D; Lucas DeAngelo, Sr. G.
