Beverly

1. Brackenbury Beach: Brackenbury Lane off Hale Street (Route 127). Small beach with boat ramp. No lifeguards. No parking. Dogs on leashes allowed before 8 a.m. and after 7:30 p.m. between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

2. Dane Street Beach: Lothrop Street, off Route 127. Limited on-street parking. Lifeguard on duty 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Kids' play area. Bathhouse open July through August. Dogs on leashes allowed before 8 a.m. and after 7:30 p.m. between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

3. Independence Park: Lothrop Street, just south of Dane Street Beach. Limited on-street parking. No lifeguards. Dogs on leashes allowed before 8 a.m. and after 7:30 p.m. between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

4. Lynch Park: 55 Ober St., off Route 127. Parking for nonresidents is $5 weekdays, $15 weekends. Free sticker parking for residents. Concession stand, play area, rose garden, bathhouse with handicapped-accessible restrooms. Ocean kayaks for rent. Dogs on leashes allowed only before 8 a.m. between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

5. Obear Park: Off Kernwood Avenue and Upland Road, on the Danvers River in the Ryal Side neighborhood. Kids' play area. Parking is free. No lifeguard. Dogs on leashes allowed only before 8 a.m. and after 7:30 p.m. between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

6. Pleasant View Beach: Porter Street, on the Bass River in the Goat Hill neighborhood. Limited parking. No lifeguard. Dogs on leashes allowed only before 8 a.m. and after 7:30 p.m. between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

7. Rice's Beach: Off Ober Street next to Lynch Park. Parking available at Lynch Park. No lifeguard. Some of this beach is private, but the public has a right of way along part of it. Dogs on leashes allowed only before 8 a.m. and after 7:30 p.m. between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Recreation Department, 978-921-6067.

DANVERS

8. Sandy Beach: Off River Street, on the Danvers River, directly across from John George Park. Free parking, handicapped-accessible restrooms, outside shower, play area. Lifeguards on duty three hours before and after high tide starting Memorial Day. Recreation Department, 978-777-0001, ext. 3094.

GLOUCESTER

9. Good Harbor Beach: Thatcher Road, Route 127A. Parking stickers are $20 for residents, $100 for Essex and Rockport residents. Senior stickers are free. Nonresident parking, $25 a car weekends from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and $15 from 3 to 5 p.m. Weekdays, $20 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and $10 from 3 to 5 p.m. Lifeguards, concession stand, restrooms, showers. 11. Crane Beach: At the end of Argilla Road, off Route 133. Owned by the Trustees of Reservations, 978-356-4354. Open daily year-round from 8 a.m. to sunset. Nonmember parking fee from Memorial Day to Labor Day is $25 per car on weekends and holidays, $15 on weekdays. Motorcycles, $4 weekdays, $5 on weekends. Those arrive by bicycle or foot pay $2 anytime. All fees are half-price after 3 p.m. Annual memberships start at $45. Ipswich residents can obtain beach stickers at the Town Hall. Lifeguards, rangers, bathhouses, outside showers, picnic tables, Crane Beach store, information kiosk, transportation for physically challenged visitors. thetrustees.org.

12. Pavilion Beach: Small rocky beach at the end of Jeffreys Neck Road. Limited free parking. No lifeguards. No bathhouse or restrooms. Dogs prohibited Memorial Day to Labor Day.

MANCHESTER-BY-THE-SEA

13. Black and White Beaches: On Ocean Street, off Route 127. Resident parking only. No lifeguards or restrooms.

14. Singing Beach: At the end of Beach Street. Parking at beach free for residents, but nonresidents can park Monday to Thursday for $25. On weekends, they park at private parking lot a half-mile away. Walk-on fee is $5. Lifeguard on duty on weekends starting Memorial Day, then every day from June 21 until Labor Day. Food and restrooms available.

15. Tuck's Point: Tuck's Point Road, off Bridge Street to Harbor Road. Resident parking only. Restrooms available. No lifeguards.

MARBLEHEAD

16. Devereux Beach: On Ocean Avenue. Parking for nonresidents is $5 weekdays, $10 Friday through Sunday and holidays. Annual town facilities sticker available to residents at the town treasurer's office or the transfer station for $55, $10 for additional stickers to same household. Lifeguards seven days a week. Restrooms and concession stand. Dogs prohibited at all times. Recreation Department, 781-631-3350.

SALEM

17. Forest River Park: Off Clinton Avenue. Two ocean beaches. Freshwater swimming pool for residents only from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Park is closed to nonresidents on weekends and holidays. Parking fee for residents with $20 sticker good for two years. Parking for nonresidents is $10 per vehicle, $20 per van and $100 per bus. Lifeguard for pool only. Restrooms, bathhouse and playground. Dog prohibited without leash.

18. Salem Willows Park: Off Fort Avenue. Two sandy beaches. Free on-street parking and parking lot. Restrooms, play areas and concession stands. No lifeguard. Dogs prohibited without a leash.

19. Winter Island: A marine recreational park, Winter Island Road, off Fort Avenue. Facilities for swimming, picnicking, RVs, camping and more. Lifeguard, bathhouse. Camp store with sandwiches, ice cream, gifts and camping supplies. Parking free for Salem residents with sticker. Parking for nonresidents is $10 any day. Boat launch is $5. 20. Collins Cove Beach: Collins Street. On-street parking. No lifeguard.

SWAMPSCOTT

21. King's Beach: Humphrey Street, Swampscott/Lynn. Public beach with no lifeguard on duty. No boating.

22. Fisherman's Beach: Humphrey Street. Fish house and docks for boating. Some swimming but no lifeguard. Some parking on Humphrey Street. Residents can obtain $15 parking permits ($7 for senior citizens) from Recreation Department office.

23. Whale's Beach and Eisman's Beach: Both off Puritan Road. Parking lot for residents near both beaches, accessible by Humphrey Street. Lifeguard at Eisman's Beach only. Purchase parking permits for residents, $15, and senior citizens, $7, from Recreation Department office.

24. Preston Beach: No lifeguard. Resident parking off Atlantic. Purchase parking permits for residents, $15, and senior citizens, $7, from Recreation Department office.
