North Shore Realtor Joel Ouellet has joined LUX Realty North Shore, an independent boutique agency, at the firm's new Cabot Street office in downtown Beverly. 

Dr. Edward Schleyer, an orthopedic surgeon specializing in pediatric, adolescent and adult surgery with clinical expertise in sports medicine and trauma of the knee, hip, shoulder and ankle, will join Beverly's Coastal Orthopedic Associates this September. Schleyer has cared for athletes and performers at all levels, including members of the Buffalo Bills, the Buffalo Sabres, Boston Ballet and Babson College.


For the 14th year in a row, the city of Salem has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for the city’s comprehensive annual financial report for the year ending June 30, 2018. Mayor Kim Driscoll said the award is "a reflection of the value we have placed on transparency, professionalism, and financial responsibility in government operations." 


The Peabody Area Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Ted Bettencourt are holding a ribbon-cutting on Thursday, Sept. 12, from 4 to 6 p.m. on the third floor of 58 Polaski St., Peabody, to welcome three new businesses to its membership: WorkTank, a flexible work sharing space; A Fine Balance, which offers a range of classes and workshops, including yoga, energy and meditation; and Make Me Pretty Again, which custom refinishes furniture. This event is free and open to the public.
