BEVERLY — Three people were injured, one critically, when scaffolding came into contact with power lines in Beverly on Tuesday morning, according to police.

Officer Mike Boccuzzi said police received a call at 10:37 a.m. that two people had fallen off a roof at 7 Fosters Point in Ryal Side. When police arrived, they found that workers had been setting up scaffolding when the scaffolding touched power lines.

Boccuzzi said three people were taken to Beverly Hospital with injuries, and one of them was in critical condition. The incident is under investigation.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration responded to the scene and opened an inspection, a spokesman for the agency said.
