At 11:23 a.m., shoplifting was reported at 11 Traders Way.



Police stopped a vehicle on Goodale Street at 3:34 p.m. and issued a written warning against the driver for a red light violation and having no license in possession. Dispatcher notes indicate the person was at that time “able to renew license online.”

At 4:08 p.m., a shoplifting was reported at Macy’s on Andover Street. Megan Pistorino, 36, of 77 Washington St., Seabrook, New Hampshire, was arrested and charged with shoplifting by concealing merchandise and on a warrant from another department.

A car crash was reported at the Marriott Hotel on Centennial Drive at 6:53 p.m., and police made one arrest at the scene: Michael Barbuto, 51, of 14 Elm St., Peabody, was charged with drunken driving and leaving the scene of a crash with property damage.

At 7:10 p.m., police were called to a Heath Road address after the caller, a woman, reported that someone violated a restraining order issued to protect her. Police applied for an arrest warrant on the suspect, and made contact with the person, who visited the police station “to speak with the officer about what occurred.” Police arrested a Saugus man on a warrant charge of violating an abuse prevention order.


Police were called to Littles Lane at 11:02 a.m. on a report of a man in a black hoodie with a backpack who was “not familiar to the area.” The man, police learned, was “using the Wi-Fi from the area.” He was sent on his way.

At 12:36 p.m., an “old & grumpy” dog was reported on Intervale Avenue. That dog, a black Lab, was later reported back home.



A past theft was reported on Elliott Street at 3:25 p.m.

At 4:02 p.m., a theft was reported on Park Street.

A caller reported a car was hanging over a wall bordering the smaller pond at the Cummings Center just before 8:30 p.m. Police arrived to find a car had been driven over a curb and landscaping, ending up on the walking path near the pond. The car had extensive front end damage and was towed from the scene. It was unclear whether the driver was injured, or how many people were in the vehicle.



Shoplifting was reported at Market Basket on Endicott Street at 11:09 a.m.

At 3:03 p.m., police were sent out to Conant Street in the area of Grapevine Road on a report of a crosswalk cone being moved.



Police were called to a business on Ocean Avenue at 11:19 a.m. on a report that a customer found a hypodermic needle and “will not leave the business until an officer comes and assists with” it.

At 12:56 p.m., an iPhone was reported stolen on Humphrey Street.

Police were called to Pleasant Street at 10:07 p.m. on a report of a drunken woman who was “going into traffic and has fallen down twice already.” Police began to transport the woman to a residence, and after they arrived saw cause to arrest her instead. Kara Preston, 27, of  20 Bessom St., Apt. 1, Marblehead, was charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and threatening to commit a crime.


At 5:13 a.m., a suspicious vehicle was reported on Creesy Street. The caller reported her neighbor’s vehicle was parked in a fire lane and its drivers-side door was “slightly open.” The caller was concerned the vehicle may have been broken into overnight. Instead, as it turned out, the vehicle owner said nothing was taken and she apparently forgot to close the door.
