A caller told police at 8:55 a.m. that his mother witnessed a man entering her garage on Blackstone Street and then leaving the area, and the man's car was now broken down in the Big Y parking lot. Police said that Wayne Destefano, 56, of 6 Cedar St., Wenham, would be summoned on charges of misdemeanor breaking and entering in the daytime.

Police responded to a report of a fight on Wheeler Street at 9:44 p.m. and arrested Deven Worrall, 22, of 6770 Congress Ave., Apt. 211, Boca Raton, Florida, on two warrants. Police said Worrall would be charged as a fugitive from justice.


Police were called to the emergency room at Lahey Medical Center at 12:13 a.m. for a "belligerent and vocal female causing issues with other patients."

A woman called 911 from the parking lot of the Holiday Inn on Route 1 at 3:57 a.m. stating that she picked up a male and thought he was overdosing. The man was taken by ambulance to Salem Hospital.

Police responded to Proper Performance Boston at 241 Newbury St. at 12:33 p.m. regarding a "dispute about ownership of the shop." 



An Ellen Road resident called police at 2:20 p.m. to report a wasp nest near his door.

A caller told police at 2:28 p.m. that he saw a man go into the water on Ocean Street and swim out about 50 yards, but now didn't see him and feared he might have gone under. Police responded and said they saw the man swimming and said he looked fine and was doing the backstroke.

A Shetland Road resident called police at 11:08 p.m. to say there was a bicycle in her backyard that does not belong to her and she would like it off the property "right now."



A Bisson Street resident report at 7:34 p.m. that someone knocked on the door and tried to open it.

Someone knocked on the door of a Hale Street resident and opened the door, according to a call at 8:37 p.m.


Police received a report at 2:08 a.m. of a man in a red shirt trying to get into a house on Conant Street.

Police received a report at 10:54 a.m. of a wire down and a transformer explosion on County Way.

A lawn mower hit a car at Beverly School, according to an 11:34 a.m. call.

A tree limb and wires came down on Bosworth Street at 11:55 a.m.
