SALEM — Starting Monday, bridge painting on Bridge Street near North Street in Salem will cause periodic, temporary lane shifts, impacting traffic, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced.
The lane shifts, near the Routes 107 and 114 interchange, will take place between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. so crews can safely work on the bridge, MassDOT said in a statement. The work is expected to wrap up by the end of August, depending on weather.
The work is part of a $2.4 million project to perform bridge deck repairs and other related structural work.
Drivers through the area should expect delays. Signs, traffic control devices and police details will be on site to guide drivers through the work zone.
