A story in Wednesday’s newspaper, “Police probe blasts two Salem captains,” requires clarification. The probe looked at the four officers who were captains at the time. After the investigation was launched, Kate Stephens was promoted to the rank of captain to fill a vacancy. She has not been implicated in any wrongdoing and was not included in the investigation.
