DANVERS — There's still time for those who have a brother or sister with autism to enter Northeast Arc's essay contest.

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, April 24.

In the contest, siblings ages 14 to 20 are encouraged to write about their perspectives and their experiences growing up with someone on the autism spectrum. A team at Northeast Arc's Autism Support Center will judge the contest and choose the winners, who will be honored at a banquet in May. There are cash prizes for the top three essays: $250 for first place, $150 for second, $100 for third. The winning essays will be published in The Salem News.

Essays should be 250 words or less and can be submitted by email to asc@ne-arc.org. Entries must include the author’s name, address and age.

The Autism Support Center serves roughly 3,000 families all over Northeast Massachusetts, from the New Hampshire border to Lynn and west toward Littleton and Dunstable.
