MARBLEHEAD — Police are seeking information following a home break-in yesterday in the vicinity of Humphrey and Birch streets and Sheldon road, a robbery that netted jewels and a 9 mm semiautomatic pistol.

The residents believe the theft took place between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., when the home was empty. So far, interviews with neighbors have produced no witnesses.

"If anybody saw or heard anything out of the ordinary," said Lt. Matt Freeman, "they're encouraged to contact the police. And everyone should make sure their homes are thoroughly secure."
