SALEM — A large crowd is expected today for the 375th anniversary of the first muster on Salem Common.

More than 1,000 troops are scheduled to take part in ceremonies and a parade hosted by The Second Corps Cadets Veterans Association.

Events begin at 10 a.m. with a ceremony at St. Peter's Church, followed by an 11 a.m. ceremony at Armory Park and a parade and flyover.

The country's first militia mustered on Salem Common in 1637.
