To the editor:

It may seem that our nation is constantly in turmoil, and that it’s impossible to get things done in Congress.

However, I would be remiss if I didn’t say that, while things might be difficult in Washington, we can do a lot on the local level.

To that matter, I would just like to say that, come November, I will once again be proud to support state Rep. Paul Tucker.

Not only is he a voice of reason in local politics, in times where there seems to be no reason elsewhere, he’s also done a lot of work for those with special needs.

He cares about the citizens of Salem, the North Shore and their needs. And I’m very pleased with the hard work he’s been doing on Beacon Hill.

Even though November seems like it may be far off, it will be here before we know it.

I urge everyone, especially this year, please get out and vote. Our voices matter, and we need to be heard.
