To the editor:

For more than 110 years, Ryal Side has celebrated Independence Day with a neighborhood parade through the neighborhood and festivities down at Obear Park. For the past 85 years, the Ryal Side Civic Association has been honored to organize the great tradition. We are proud of our tradition and proud that our great neighborhood has succeeded with another fantastic Fourth of July.

The parade winners: Girls bikes: first place, Izzy Godjikian; second place, Lucy and Pheobe Graham; third place, Neysa Mitchel. Boys bikes: first, Ronan McCarthy; second place, Jack Colotti; third place, Cameron Benson. Wagon/miscellaneous: first place, Savannah Sells; second place, Poppy Grimes; third place, Adeline Godjikian. Carriage, first place, Mackenzie Husson. Floats, first place, the Gustafson and Gaglione families; second place, the Wilcock family; third place, Girl Scouts. A huge thank you to all who participated. Start working on your float ideas for next year!

The RSCA would like to thank Gentile Brewing Company, North Shore Craftsman, Kevin Puopolo of CM&B Construction, Beverly Crossing, Salerno’s and all of the Ryal Side businesses and residents for their generous donations. We would also like to thank everyone who volunteered their time to plan and implement the parade and festivities. Without our great community coming together, we would not be able to create such special memories and continue on such valuable traditions.

Ryal Siders, make sure to join us at the Ryal Side Civic Association where we are focused on tradition, pride, and friendship. We will see you all next year!
