To the editor:
I am writing this letter in support of Jerry Ryan, who is currently running for Ward 6 city councilor and whom I have had the pleasure of working with over the years in his past roles as city councilor.
Over the past 12 years that I have been running the Mack Park Association, it has grown to consist of more than100 participants who willingly work on many of our community projects, such as raising money for the Salem police K-9s. During this time I have been fortunate to work with many city councilors, including Jerry Ryan.
Over the years, Jerry and his family have attended our meetings, supported the work that we do and assisted us with his vast historical and current knowledge of Ward 6. Jerry was born and raised in Ward 6, and after getting married, Jerry and his wife, Pam, purchased a home in Ward 4, where he went on to win the Ward 4 council seat. Three years ago, Jerry, his wife and three sons moved back to his native Ward 6 and he is now seeking to represent the ward he grew up in.
Jerry, not only has experience, with eight years on the City Council, both as Ward 4 city councilor as well as councilor at large, but he also served two years as council president. Jerry has a proven track record as a city councilor who was dependable, accessible and responsive to residents. Please consider voting for Jerry Ryan, who I know will be a great representative for us in Ward 6 and for our great city.
