Legion Baseball

Marblehead/Swampscott American Legion baseball will hold an informational meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Marblehead Community Center. They will review plans for the Winter Clinic, discuss the overall plan to field competitive teams this summer and build a year round program. Gordon College coach Todd Alford will discuss playing better high school baseball and the potential transition from high school to college. They will answer any questions about the MSLB 2020 program.

Special Olympics Massachusetts is putting on the LETR Holiday Torch Run, a 5k run and 1k walk, on December 8, 2019. The event will be held at the Analogic Corporations, 8 Centennial Drive in Peabody. Food and awards are included. Please visit www.PeabodyTorchRun.com.

Hamilton-Wenham Hall of Fame

The Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School’s Athletic Hall of Fame Committee is seeking nominations for its 3rd Induction Class. You can find this form in the athletic section of the HWRHS website at https://www.hwschools.net/page.cfm?p=2342. Nominations are due by January 1, 2020.


Bishop Fenwick High School seeks a freshmen boys basketball coach and a head coach for wrestling. Interested applicants for either position may contact athletic director Dave Woods at DPW@fenwick.org or 978-587-8341.


The Viking Skating Club’s 2019-2020 skating season is underway. Group lessons are held at Salem State University’s Rockett Arena on Saturday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Lessons are available for Ages 3 through Adult. Please note that all are welcome to join anytime during the session and fees will be prorated. Viking Skating Club offers a Learn to Skate Program, and also offers the opportunity to compete in their annual competition to be held in February and to participate in our end of the season show which is held in March.
