Salem High School seeks a boys varsity soccer coach. The hired individual will be responsible for heading the varsity program as well as overseeing the junior varsity team and coordinating with the Salem Youth Programs. This will include coordinating tryouts, practice planning, game management, fundraising and implementing youth programs. The coach will also work closely with the athletic director to ensure all school policies/procedures are being followed as it relates to the athletic programs. The candidate is required to be CPR and Heads Up Concussion Certified, and it is preferred that the candidate have experience working with youth athletics, preferably soccer players, as well as the ability to meet the expectations and standards of practices as guided by the MIAA. They should also demonstrate a high degree of energy and a genuine interest in students and their success, in addition to having experience working with students and families of diverse ethnic backgrounds.

DANVERS TOUCHDOWN CLUB

The Touchdown Club of Danvers is having their annual Family Meeting on June 22 at Breakaway, Rt. 1 in Danvers. Olympic gold medalist and Danvers’ native Meghan Duggan will be in attendance to serve as the guest speaker. Social hour is 6 p.m. with dinner at 7. The 1st Annual Tri-Town Boys Summer Basketball Clinic will run from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. July 8-11 at Masconomet Regional High School. The Peabody Basketball School will be running two separate weeks of its basketball program this summer. The week-long program provides instruction for youth basketball players of all skill levels and offers offensive and defensive instruction, 5 on 5 games and competitions. The school teaches skills and drills that players can use on their own and provides a fun and exciting experience. The school is run by Thad Broughton, Peabody High School Varsity Basketball Coach. The staff consists of coaches and players from Peabody High School. The Carey Baseball Academy will conduct its Speciality Camps on July 9 and 10 at the Benevento LL Complex in North Reading. The hitting session will be conducted from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m. each morning. The hitting session is highlighted with two days of video analysis and a written evaluation. The pitcher/catcher session will be held from 12:30 p.m. - 3 p.m. All aspects of their respective mechanics will be covered. Each player will receive a written evaluation in addition to pitchers being video analyzed in slow motion. The cost of each two day, five hour session is $90. BACKGAMMON CLUB
