Round 2 of stroke play at this year's US Amateur was suspended due to darkness on Tuesday, but not before Nick Maccario made his push.
The former St. John's Prep star carded a 3-over par 73 for the second consecutive outing at Pinehurst and currently falls just outside the projected match play cut line of 5-over par.

Maccario finished with one birdie, two bogeys and a double-bogey on Tuesday after carding two birdies and five bogeys in Round 1. As it stands, the Haverhill native is in a tie for 92nd in the 300-plus man field.
Meanwhile, Swampscott's Steven DiLisio will likewise miss the cut for the second straight summer. The 21-year-old shot 73-77-150 (+10) and is currently in the middle of the pack in a tie for 157th. The lone other North Shore based linksman, Christian Emmerich of Swampscott, shot 82-77-159 (+19).
