Masconomet 3, Woburn 2: A tremendous 43 assists from Rhenna Murray helped Masconomet win a thrilling tiebreaker over Woburn, 15-7 in the fifth set, to advance in the Division 1 North playoffs. The Chieftains (17-4) took the first two games, 25-15 and 25-19, but the Tanners rallied to win the next two 25-21 and 25-22 to force the tiebreaker.Paige Richardson had an outstanding match with 19 kills while Sophia Varinos had 28 digs and Stefanie Reineke provided five blocks. Sarah Buckley serves well with 23 points and eight aces. The Chieftains now face unbeaten Winchester in the North semifinals on Wednesday on the road.

BOYS SOCCER

Marblehead 2, Greater Lowell 0: Second half goals by Alfred Bresnahan and Cam Hefitz helped the Magicians (9-7-3) secure victory in the Division 2 North preliminary round at home. Marblehead now advances to face No. 2 Lynn Classical (13-3-2) on Wednesday at Manning Field (6 p.m.).

GIRLS SOCCER

North Andover 3, Peabody 0: Despite eight saves from young keeper Emma Bloom, the Tanners (11-8) saw their season end in the first round of the Division 1 North playoffs. Maddy Scacchi, Samantha Simmons, Aja Alimonti, Jordyn Collins and McKayla Fisher all had outstanding efforts for Peabody, which trailed 1-0 at halftime and conceded two goals in the last 10 minutes while pressing forward to try to tie the game.
