South Hamilton's Justin Rennicks seems to thrive on every stage he takes in the soccer world. Next month, he'll have another chance to strut his stuff in front of a big audience.

The 20-year-old striker was named to Major League Soccer's Homegrown roster this week, a group of young standouts that will be showcased during MLS' all-star week at the end of July. Rennicks and his fellow Academy products will take on the U-20 champions of Mexico, Chivas de Guadalajara, on July 30 in Orlando, Florida.

It's been a tremendous 2019 so far for Rennicks, who made his professional debut for his hometown Revs earlier this year. He scored his first professional goal in the US Open Cup on June 19 and made his first MLS start on June 29.

That came after he had a great run with the United States' U-20 side in the youth World Cup in Poland, where he scored a dramatic game-winning goal in an elimination game against France to send the Americans to the quarterfinals. In all, Rennicks had seven goals at the U-20 international level and has earned international caps at U-20, U-18 and U-16 levels.
