Ipswich 17, O’Bryant 0: Erika Noftall led the Tigers with a 4-for-5 performance from the plate including a single, triple and two home runs while also tossing a no-hitter from the mound as Ipswich advances to the D2 North quarterfinals.
Danvers 1, Burlington 0: Alex Marie singled and drove in Brooke Grassia in the top of the first for the only run in the D2 North first round tilt. Alexcea Glynos got the win on the mound for the Falcons by surrendering just two hits and striking out seven batters.
Marblehead 5, Burlington 2: Senior Jacob Bornstein turned in an outstanding 6 2/3 inning start with five strikeouts and worked around eight hits to send the Magicians (14-7) into Monday’s Division 2 North quarterfinals.Freshman Schuyler Schmitt had two hits and three RBI to lead the offense for Marblehead while senior Ben Brennan had two hits, including a double. Senior Chris Gally scored twice, Erick Gonzales had a double, Brady Lavender drove in a run and Ryan Masters got the final two outs as Marblehead stretched its win streak to six games. The Magicians now advance to the sectional quarterfinals to play the winner of Friday’s Beverly/Woburn clash.
Hamilton-Wenham 10, Mystic Valley 0: Everett Wonson drove in three runs while junior captain Conor Evers went 2-for-3 with two runs, two steals and two RBI as the defending Division 4 North champs started their tourney run with a decisive win. Quinlan Kelly and Will Jones (2 hits) also had RBI, Paul Horgan scored twice and Wonson collected the win with eight strikeouts in four innings. Mark Roselli struck out the side in the fifth and Jones had five strikeouts in two frames for H-W (14-7), which travels to Snowden for Monday’s quarterfinals.
Belmont 7, Masconomet 1: The Chieftains (11-10) trailed by only two in the sixth inning of their Division 2 North opener before the host Marauders piled on a few unearned runs to pull away. Senior captain Andrew Gotts had a pair of hits and scored Masco’s lone run, driven in by fellow captain Pat Costigan. Joe Kalapinski, Kevin Pelletier and Will Hunter also had hits for Masco.
Greater Lowell 4, Salem 3 (11 inn.): Trailing 3-2 with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Tommy Beauregard mashed a triple and Troy Zipper followed suit with an RBI single to send the Division 2 North first round game to extras. Unfortunately, the Witches lost on a walk-off blooper in the bottom of the 11th to end their season. Bryan Pena was terrific on the mound, tossing 10 innings of five-hit baseball allowing just one earned. Offensively, Beauregard finished 3-for-4 with two runs; Jayco Pena and Bobby Jellison each had RBI singles and Jonah Algarin had a single and a great catch in left field.
Swampscott 14, Boston Latin Academy 0: The Big Blue (13-8) cruised in their Division 3 North opener and will await the winner of Austin Prep and Arlington Catholic in the next round. Jonathan Oriakhi hit a 3-run homer in the win, while Cam O’Brien had a two-run single early to open things up.
Ipswich 20, Austin Prep 12: Senior captain Hannah Herron scored five goals along with Cayla Greenleaf and junior captain Annie Gillis to help the Tigers advance to the D2 North Semifinals. Junior captain Haley O’Connor turned in a hat trick while Lilly Sheridan and Riley Daly each scored a goal apiece.
Reading 18, Masconomet 14: Morgan Bovardi had four goals as the Chieftains season came to a close at the hands of top-seeded Reading. Liv McCarthy added a hat trick, Emma Flynn had three assists, Ava Tveter caused three turnovers and senior captain Nicole Amyouny fittingly scored the last goal of the year for Masconomet.
Hamilton-Wenham 3, Ipswich 2: Nick Greco (6-1, 7-6 (3)) and the first doubles tandem of Robby Donovan and Michael Seger (6-2, 7-5) earned hard fought victories for the Generals to knot the team score at 2 apiece. That paved the way for senior captain Thor Messer to take care of business at third singles, winning his match in three sets (6-2, 3-6, 6-1) to power H-W into the Division 3 North semifinals. The Generals will host Amesbury on Monday for a shot at the sectional title game.
For Ipswich, Declan O’Flynn (6-0, 6-1) prevailed from the first singles slot despite the Tigers’ season-ending setback. John Werner/Jason Finkst (4-6, 6-2, 6-4) provided Ipswich’s other match victory at second doubles in the defeat.
Marblehead 4, Tewksbury 1: Northeastern Conference MVP Michelle Shub won 6-0, 6-0 and the No. 3 seed Magicians (20-2) advanced to Monday’s Division 2 North semifinals against Newburyport. Hannah Porath took second singles 6-0, 6-3 and the doubles teams of Simone Likterov/Cannan Whittier (6-0-, 6-1) and Cahill Whittier/Tess Keaney (6-2, 6-3) won in straight sets.
Austin Prep 4, Swampscott 1: Senior captains Olivia Fulghum/Mariam Tshowa (7-5, 5-7, 7-5) earned the Big Blue’s lone match point from the second doubles slot as Swampscott ends their season with a 14-6 overall mark.

North Shore Navigators 7, Pittsfield Suns 4: Louis Olivieri smacked a three-run shot to help the Navigators improve to 5-2 on the season. Cedric Gillette got the win from the mound in two innings of relief work while Danvers native Andrew Olszak paced the victors with three hits.
