Danvers 60 1/2, Peabody 11 1/2: Winners for the Falcons on Opening Day were Mike Papamechail, Andrew Metivier, Christian Harvey, Calvin Mansfield, Trevor McNeill, Tyler Sullivan, Jake Semons and Tom Purcell.

Beverly 43 1/2, Swampscott 28 1/2: Victories from Owen Desmond (7-2), Cam Cook (7 1/2- 1 1/2) and Tyler Serino (6 1/2-2 1/2) pushed the Panthers past the Big Blue. Swampscott was led by Aidan Graciale (5-4), Danny Dilisio (tie), Lou Spellios (5-4) and Brendan Sheehan (5 1/2- 3 1/2).

Bishop Fenwick 189, Lowell Catholic 138: Senior captains Jake Murphy and Nick Muzi, as well as junior Cade Buckley and senior Tom Estella, all shot well for the Crusaders in their season opening win at The Meadows.

Lynn Classical 42, Salem 30: The Witches (0-1) got match wins from Ethan Doyle (7 1/2- 1 1/2), Bobby Jellison (5-4) and Jack Doyle (5-4) in the opening day action.

Ipswich 91, Pentucket 78: Senior co-captain Bobby Grady notched 19 points and junior Aidan O’Flynn matched his total to help the Tigers start the season 1-0. Andrew Gilligan, another senior captain, chipped in 17 points in the win at Haverhill CC.

Newburyport 148, Hamilton-Wenham 92: Andrew Winch, Tom Kain and Peter Gourdeau each earned 17 points to pace the Generals in their season opener.

St. John’s Prep 19, Central Catholic 1: The Eagles cruised in their opener, a match play clash against a private school rival. Senior captain Matt Remley grabbed an impressive win in the top slot that included a putt on the final hole to seal the match. Freshman Aiden LeBlanc also impressed in his opener. 

Marblehead 39.5, Gloucester 32.5: Co-captain and top player Ben Weed was medalist with a 40 and picked up a 6-3 match play win for the Magicians. His brother, freshman Matt Weed, also won his match (5-4) as did Drake Wyman (6-3) and senior Jacob Magel (8 1/2-1/2). Gavin Lundgren shot a 43 and halved his match, as did Dylan Callaghan.  



Ipswich 4, Peabody 0: Senior captains Emma Lombara and Amelia Krause, as well as junior Sam Orroth, had stellar games defensively in front of goalies Kayla Laddin and Morgan Bodwell as the Tigers won decisively on opening day. Junior forward Rowan Galanis scored 12 minutes in on an assist from junior midfielder Riley Daly, and she doubled the lead five minutes later off a penalty stroke. Freshman midfield Chloe Pszenny scored her first varsity goal just before the half — on her birthday, no less — with senior captain Heather Milano assisting, and Milano added another assist on senior forward Tatum Galuski’s second half score off a tip in.



KIPP 5, Salem Academy 3: Despite dropping the high-scoring affair, Salem Academy (1-1) saw three players find the back of the net: Adam Pinto, Michael Santana and Wes Hanger.

Mystic Valley 5, Essex Tech 3: Senior Sam Jenkins, sophomore Alex Gallucci and freshman Peter Tfoutorous all scored for the Hawks in their season opener. Josh Berube added an assist. 

Revere 4, Beverly 0: The Panthers dropped their season opener on the road to the Patriots.



Manchester Essex 1, Marblehead 0: The Magicians were unable to score in a tight season-opening defeat.

Salem Academy 6, KIPP 0: A hat trick from Lindsey Russell and a pair of goals courtesy of Samiyah El-Ashkar sent the Navigators (2-0) to victory in their second match of the year.

Essex Tech 1, Mystic Valley 0: Emily Enes scored the lone Hawks’ goal to propel her team to an opening season win. Hope Miller tallied the assist while keeper Liv Cassidy strung together an excellent game with 10 saves. 



North Andover 3, Masconomet 1: The Chieftains dropped their opening match despite strong performances from Sarah Buckley (11 digs, 6 aces), Stefanie Reineke (5 blocks), Rheanna Murray (24 assists) and Paige Richardson (12 kills). 



Endicott 3, MIT 2: The Gulls (3-0) won each of the final three sets to complete a comeback and defeat the Engineers for the first time since 2013. Amanda Gilbert had 14 kills while Meghan Frederick provided 11 kills and Zoey Gifford racked up 44 assists.
