MEN’S COLLEGE LACROSSE
Salem State 18, Northern Vermont 1: Freshman Tyler Morris pumped in five goals and added two helpers to power the Vikings (2-2) in the rout. Danvers native Zach Persson added two goals while Salem State also got a pair each from Nick Quirk and Jay Colletti. Salem native Craig Gordon played well for the winners with one goal and one assist.
WOMEN’S COLLEGE LACROSSE
Endicott 15, MIT 8: Jennifer Lacroix scored two of her four goals in the first three minutes of action as the Gulls (2-2) evened their record with the home win. Julia Lantieri and Jackie Healy (team-high five points) each had hat tricks for the winners, Bella Rino made seven saves in the cage and Alex Fitzgerald contributed a pair of markers.
Fredonia 19, Gordon 15: Despite outscoring their foes 7-5 in the second half, Gordon (0-3) couldn’t secure its first win. Olivia McCarrick was the primary scorer for Gordon with four goals and five helpers in addition to her 11 draw controls and Greta Moore pumped in five goals of her own. Lena Larson also scored twice for the Scots.
Salem State 6, SUNY Poly 4: Dom del Vecchio gave Salem State (4-2-1) the lead for good with an RBI single and Kasey Nolan drove in a pair of insurance runs in the fourth as the Vikings won yet again at Myrtle Beach. Catcher Ivy Bonoldi went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI while Gracie Hogan’s three innings of relief earned her the win. Giana Berkowitz threw a perfect final frame to grab her first save of the season.
Scots split: Gordon kept its record at the PFX Spring Games in Florida even at 4-4 by beating Lasell, 5-2, to rebound from a 6-2 loss to Mount St. Joesph. Meghan Jenkerson went 2-for-4 including her third triple of the season, Caitlin Catalanatto went 2-for-4 with an RBI double, Jasmine Mullally threw five innings for the win and Laura Bieren was credited with two RBI.
Gordon gets on board: With a 4-2 win over Montclair State in Florida, Gordon (1-9) snapped a nine-game skid to begin the season. Chris Leavitt had RBI singles in the fifth and seventh innings and leadoff man Dan Quint had three hits and scored twice. Daniel Ensign recorded three of his six outs via the K to earn the save and Derek Hudson scattered seven hits over six innings for the win. Gordon lsot to Jersey City, 6-3, earlier in the day with two hits from Mack Joseph being the highlight.
